At Twin Waters we offer you, our guests, affordable luxury.
We are situated in the north-western corner of the South Island amongst some of the most varied scenery and activities New Zealand has to offer. We are open from the end of October every year through and including the Easter holiday of the following year.
Our purpose-built lodge is nestled harmoniously on a finger of land between a wildlife estuary and the shining blue waters of Golden Bay, where you can drift off to sleep to the sound of the sea and wake to birdsong provided by our resident tui and bellbird population. You can enjoy tea or coffee on your private deck before joining us for breakfast overlooking the estuary where the view sweeps up to bush clad hills.
Our lodge features curved wooden ceilings and walls of glass, with sweeping views of salt marsh estuary and hills covered with native forest.
Our new extension is now open. We have four new internationally-themed ensuite guest rooms with their own private decks and a dedicated guest lounge for your relaxation and enjoyment. A library with an extensive collection of New Zealand books and internet access is under development.
We offer a mini-bar in your room and tea and coffee are available throughout the day. Our resident barista will be happy to make you your coffee of choice at breakfast and after dinner.
We provide breakfast as part of the tariff and you can book ahead if you wish to have dinner with us. Our three-course dinners are served at 7:30 p.m. in our spacious dining room. The food we serve is very much dependent upon the local produce available on any given day. We have an extensive wine cellar, predominantly showing off New Zealand’s fine wines, but some international selections are available. These can be purchased to savour while relaxing on our wrap-around decks at the end of your day or to enjoy with your meal - or both if the spirit takes you.
Two lounges are available for your relaxation - you have the option of relaxing with us, or spending time on you own - perhaps watching a New Zealand DVD - in our guest lounge. We have an extensive library of CDs and DVDs and we have satellite digital television.

We have an on-site gallery featuring local, New Zealand and international photography. All the photography has been taken over many years by your hostess. Prints up to A3 size can be done on site, anything larger needs to be ordered but we are happy to do that for you and arrange shipping home.
We can also offer facilities for you to download your own photography and put your images on CD or DVD so you have a permanent record of your journey. There’s nothing worse than erasing your images by mistake!
The gallery also has cards, calendars, Twin Waters cookbooks and other delights for you to purchase as the whim takes you.
